RSE Club Report – A Bit of a Lungbuster!

Lungbuster 2023

It was around November 2022 that several members of RSE put the idea of running the Lungbuster in everyone’s mind – a race featuring a famously tough, long, muddy hill! But nothing can put our club members off when it comes to a challenge, particularly if it involves a bit of mud. The race starts and finishes in Broad Hinton Village Hall, Swindon, and covers 9 miles of the surrounding farmland tracks, woodland and fields. Runners/walkers/crawlers can expect homemade cake at the end, which almost makes the touch climbs worth it!

  • Carol Sworn – 1:39:35
  • Andy Sworn – 1:39:35
  • Caroline Joynes-Creed – 2:05:03
  • Kevin Joynes-Creed – 2:05:04
  • Rosanna Price – 2:07:38
  • Gemma Wright – 2:07:38
  • Tim Wainwright – 2:07:38

Is there a better way to spend a sunny Sunday morning?

Advertised as 9 miles but far closer to 10 with one of the steepest but attackable uphills I’ve seen in a race for a long time…

Amazing support from the Bassett Hounds marshals made it a pleasure to run and the post run cake was fantastic.

There’s a good chance this will become a regular race entry.

NEW – Race Report Form

The way to send in your races/runs/achievements for the club report is changing! We have now created a form (Thank you Kev!) to help us organise and report on your races each week. There are several reasons for this. including:

  • Easier to locate than Ellie’s phone number!
  • If Ellie is away, another member of the committee can seamlessly take over the report
  • Easier to attach and send photos

We hope you find the form simple and easy to use! If you have any feedback, please do let a member of committee know!

Here’s a link to the new club report form:

Save the Date!
