Race Report 16/11/15 – Stormy running

Storm Claudia washed out the local parkruns, so well done those who managed to get out and about!

Newent 9, by Newent Runners

Linda Edwards: Race Time: 1.00:19 ( gun time only)

About the race: The first time running this race and I was not disappointed as the route was pretty and a low key event with easy parking.
The gun time only (chip only at end) race starts off running around a field then after a short gravel path there is a long hill. The rest of the route is generally undulating (hilly) until near the end as you approach Newent. There are quite a few turns on and off pavements and a zebra crossing. The route was well marshalled however water was available only at the end.
The roads were not closed and a few cars on country lanes passing.
The race was very reasonably priced (£18 if I recall correctly) and a bobble hat, nice medal, sweets, hot drink and cake included.
I would definitely run this one again.

Park Runs

Cheri celebrated her 100th parkrun, having covered 50 venues, on Saturday at Ganger Farm.

Fantastic achievement, not to mention the 25 volunteer milestone.

Fantastic cape too!
