Beyond Badminton Trail

Organised by Beyond Events this stunning event in the Badminton Estate boasts captivating views, a mostly flat and fast terrain, and a thrilling atmosphere, ensuring runners from all walks of life are welcome. Distances on offer include 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra 50km.

Pauline Tilbury took the Half Marathon on, completing the slightly longer course of 14.5miles in an unofficial time of 2:59:00.

“The event had a very relaxed and friendly feel and the course was a lovely trail through woodland and over fields, though it was a long half at 14.5 miles !”

Pauline Tilbury

Well done, Pauline!

Run Walk Crawl 50k Glamorgan Coastal Trail

The Vale of Glamorgan Ultra and Coastal Races are the original trail races along the Vale of Glamorgan Coastline, now proudly in their 6th year!  The Ultra race is a 32 mile linear route along the entire coast of the Vale of Glamorgan.  The Vale Trail 18 (or mini ultra as it has fondly become known!) is an 18.5 mile run along the Coast Path passing through the Glamorgan Heritage Coast and the Vale Trail 10 follows the last 10 miles of both races.

Carol Sworn took on The Vale Trail 18 on a very sunny Saturday.

“(I) found it very hard going (was hot but generally no ‘oomph’) so ended up walking it in. Not my finest run but a very well organised race with glorious views so would recommend it to anyone in the future. I saw parts of the South West Coast that I didn’t know existed but will certainly be revisiting at some point in the future … maybe with a deckchair and picnic next time.”

Carol Sworn

Fantastic effort, Carol.

Angels 10k

The Angels 10k is an undulating but picturesque 10k road race in the Severn Vale taking in views of the Cotswold and Malvern hills. This year it was both a Glos AAA race and also a County Championship race.

Nia Glover and Sharon Smith put in sterling performances both finishing with Gold medals for winning their age category, with Nia second lady overall.

“I ran a course PB 46.54 . First in age category and Championship Gold . (It was) hilly but picturesque.”

Sharon Smith

“I finished in 42:42 chip time which is a 10k Pb for me. (I also) came in as 2nd lady and won the SL champs category. … Fantastic race although very undulating with a killer of a hill halfway through šŸ„µ”

Nia Glover

Congratulations, amazing achievements ladies.

Great Bristol Half

The Great Bristol Run returned today with a half marathon and a 10k route, with more than 10,000 people taking part.

The run is renowned for its route along the Avon Gorge and through Bristol city centre, passing landmarks such as the Clifton suspension bridge, the waterfront, Castle Park, and Millennium Square.

Tim Wainwright is still on course for completing 4 half marathons in 4 weeks, with number 3 here in Bristol finishing in an unofficial time of 2:22:27.

“As expected I struggled today with fatigue. (I) finished in 2.22.27.
I’m pleased I’ve done 3 in 3 but today was tough just couldn’t get my legs going… onto the next one (and I’m) staying positive šŸ˜”

Tim Wainwright

Well done Tim and good luck for next week šŸ¤žšŸ¼

The Swindon (Virtual) Half Marathon

Not to be deterred by the Swindon Half Marathon being cancelled, Alan Powderhill, Elliot Gardiner and Paul Robertson all completed their own virtual Swindon half marathon together achieving two PBs in the process. Well done chaps!

“2 x Personal Bests todayā€¦ Al Powderhill on Virtual Swindon Half Marathon and Elliot Gardiner who joined us on the virtual run just for the fun of itā€¦.. They were superb today.”
