Posting a News Item

Here’s a quick reminder on how to post a News Item to the site:

• Log in via the link on the top right of the homepage
• Go to the Dashboard via the menu that’s now appeared on the top of the homepage
• Select Posts/Add New from the left hand Dashboard menu
• Give your post a Title and tell us your news!
• Use Add Media to insert pictures to make things look good
• Under Categories on the right hand side of the page select News

 

Slider Image – the one that appears on the top of the home page, it needs to be uploaded separately and tweaked to be a certain size:

• Under Slider Options/Slider Image select Upload and upload another copy of the image you’d like to appear on the slider
• After it’s uploaded select Edit Image
• Click and drag a rough letterbox shape over the main part of the image
• Under Image Crop/Aspect ratio: type 3.26:1 as the image ratio – you’ll see the letterbox change size slightly
• Move the resized selection over the image to give the best view then hit the Crop icon to resize the picture
• Click on Save just below the picture
• Click on Insert into Post, you might need to scroll down the window to see this

 

When you’re ready (and most importantly) click on Publish towards the top right of the screen to put the news item on the site. If you’re not quite ready yet you can save things for later by selecting Save Draft so you can come back and finish it later.
