Details of the ‘Run Winchcombe’ event which is organised as part of the Winchcombe Country Show over the August Bank Holiday weekend. It will be held this year on Sunday, 26th August.

There are two races, a 10k event and a 5k event.  The ‘Winchcombe 10k Hill Climb’ is a mixed on and off road route.  Starting from the Sudeley Castle grounds it goes through very picturesque countryside including taking in a serious pull up to Belas Knap, a Neolithic long barrow situated on top of Cleeve Hill.  We are now in our 10th year and it’s proving more popular each year.  For those who prefer a 5k race, the ‘Sudeley 5k fun run’ is available over a less strenuous route.

New this year is the introduction of chip timing, and our special ‘10th Anniversary’ medals for all runners.  The trophies differ this year in that they are handcrafted in wood.

Please note that to comply with UK Athletics Rules the minimum ages for the  5k and 10k are 11 and 15 respectively.

If you find this of interest, then we would very much appreciate it if you could publicise this through your club, either via your website or whatever means you use locally.
