RSE Racing Report – 3rd June 2018

Fairford 10k

An amazing time was had by all at the Fairford 10k, once again hosted by Running Somewhere Else.  This very popular race brought over 400 runners to the lovely town of Fairford, where the competitors were taken on a undulating course in very warm conditions around the stunning countryside of the area.
Our congratulations go to Alex Lee from Cheltenham and County Harriers who was first over the finish line in an incredible time of 33:10 and the first lady Gemma Hargreaves (unattached) in 38:10.
Well done to every runner who took part, you are all inspirational and a big thank you to the organisers, the lead cyclists, the marshals, the sport masseurs, the back runners, the supporters and of course, as always, Fairford Festival. Through the generosity of the event sponsors, additional contributions made from runners at entry and donations to sports masseurs it has been the most successful year on record for money raised for RSEs charity of the year ‘the Churn Project’ and the Fairford Town charity. Thank you everyone.

RSE as always shone through on the day with 21 members competing. Special mentions to Tom Cooper as first runner back for the club and Sharon Smith who came 1st in her age category. Also, an amazing achievement for many of our recently graduated ‘beginners’, I hope you feel as proud of yourselves as we do of all of you. Awesome work Sarah, George, Vanessa, Cathy, Manda, Amanda, Lisa and Kay. First outing in the RSE vest for Caroline and Kevin too.
