BIRMINGHAM 10K

Great results from a four of our members at the Birmingham 10k on Sunday.  A hugely supported race, the course took the runners around the streets of the city, taking in the many sights and sounds.  Dave Witnall came in first for the club and finished in 42.09, followed by Ruth Herbert 1.00.05, Kate Potter 1.04.48 and Ellie Taylor 1.07.39.  Well done all of you.
ANGELS 10K
Well done to 4 RSE runners at the ever popular Angels 10k on Sunday, the race was part of the Gloucestershire AAA Road Race series.  This undulating, challenging course took the runners along country lanes starting and finishing at the Woodpeckers Cricket club in Ashleworth.  First home for the club was Amelia Culshaw who finished in 46.38 (2nd LV40), Martin Pitts 47.35, Sharon Smith 51.55 (1st LV65) and Kirsty Pitts 52.47.
MILTON KEYNES HALF MARATHON
Well done to Matt Lambourne and Elaine Chapman at the Milton Keynes Half Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday. The race started at The Stadium MK and then the first 5 miles of the course took the runners along wide tree lined boulevards with amazing support, the course includes the beautiful Ouzel Valley following the River Ouzel and to finish with a victory lap at the Stadium MK.  Matt finished in 1.48.49 (1hr 50min pacer) followed by Elaine in 1.49.11.
PENDULUM FELL RACE
Congratulations to Stephen Priestnall at the Pendulum Fell race in Northumberland on Sunday. The extremely tough 12 mile course tackles 2 of Northumberland’s highest peaks, the Cheviot (highest point of 2674 ft) and Hedgehope (highest point of 2343 ft ), and also taking in the amazing views along the way.  Great result from Steve who finished in 2.26.08.

THAMES PATH ULTRA CHALLENGE

Well done to Henry Church who competed in the 6th annual Thames Path 100 Mile continuous trail race on Saturday, the course took the runners along the Thames path from Richmond in London to Oxford, with a total climb of 1900 feet.  This trail race is fast and flat, with the majority of the course on groomed paths/trails and paved pathways, with some stunning sections of the English riverside scenery.
