This weekend saw the third race in the Club Championship at the Bourton 10K. A familiar race for many that starts and finishes in the middle of the village, starting with two loops of the village before heading out along the Rissington Road, and then uptowards the village Great Rissington before turning round and heading back towards the village for one final loop before crossing the line. First finisher for the club, was Ollie Hazel, 40:03, followed by a photo finish between Dave Witnall, 41:48, and Mark Manley, 41:50. They were followed by Jon Lewis, 44:40; Elaine Chapman, 46:04 (PB); Anna Jones, 46:13 (PB); Martin Pitts, 46:20; Nadine Brown, 48:35 (PB); making her racing comeback was Teresa Hazelwood, 49:01 and Cat Shelley, 52:37 (PB). BRIGHTON HALF MARATHON
Sunday also saw a group of our runners head to Brighton for the Half Marathon. The race starts on Madeira Drive by Brighton Pier and is mostly run along the front taking in sights such as Hove Lagoon, Peace Statue and Brighton Marina. First in for the club was Amelia Culshaw, still smashing PBs in a time of 1:39:05 (PB 4mins). Also running were Kirsty Pitts, 1:52:19; Sarah Gray, 2:06:27 (PB 7mins); Tracy Edginton, 2:15:28; Pauline Tilbury, 2:25:23; Caroline Coates, 2:26:32; Ella Cszervenka, 2:28:55; Laura Butler, 2:48:34 (Personal Worst!)
HEADCORN HALF MARATHON
Venturing a little further afield this weekend was our Club Captain Graham Aitchison who was in Kent running with his Best Man in this Mid-Kent race that takes in the villages of Headcorn, Swifts Green, Egerton Forstal, Pembles Cross and Southernden before returning to Headcorn. Graham completed the course in 1:57:35.
