Fantastic results from Oliver Hazel and Amelia Culshaw at the Abingdon marathon on Sunday. The race started and finished at Tisley Park athletics track, the fast, flat route took the runners through the town centre and out on a 2 loop course though the picturesque surrounding villages. Congratulations to Ollie who finished in 3.27.06 (9 minute PB!) and Amelia who finished in 3.42.45 (20 minute PB!).
GREAT SOUTH RUN
Well done to 6 RSE ladies who travelled down to Portsmouth at the weekend to compete in the Great South Run. The fast, flat 10 mile course took the thousands of runners through Portsmouth and Southsea taking in many iconic sights, and to finally finish on the seafront with great views of the Isle of Wight. First home for the club was Sarah Gray who finished in 1.33.49 (PB), followed by Tracy Edginton in 1.36.49 (PB), Caroline Coates 1.39.49 (PB), Pauline Tilbury 1.43.32 (1st 10 miler!), Jacki Day and Becky Heal 2.26.21 (Becky’s 1st 10 miler!).
BLENHEIM HILLY 10K
Another great result from John Buck who competed in the Blenheim Hilly 10k on Sunday. An amazing backdrop and a stunning but tough course took the runners through Blenheim Estate, John finished in 43.42.
RUN FOR RADIOTHERAPY
Well done to Elspeth Murano who ran in the 5k Run for Radiotherapy at Lydiard Park on Sunday, in aid of the charity Brighter Futures. The charity is raising money for the radiotherapy building at the Great Western Hospital.
