Sunday saw the Bourton 10k road race, which is the third race of the 2016 club championship. The race is a scenic flat road race that is two short laps around the village of Bourton. The race is popular with many runners as it is a fast race that often sees personal best times so often sells out within 24 hourS! This year 21 runners from the club managed to enter and run in the race; 9 ladies and 12 men. Remember to qualify for club championship points you must be wearing the official club running vest, otherwise your effort will not count.
So after the first three races the top three places in club championships now look like this:
1) Sharon Smith (30 points)
2) Elizabeth Clark (27 points)
3) Alice Mason, Jackie Day & Kirsty Pitts (16 points) JOINT
1) Matt Lambourne (26 points)
2) Dave Witnall (20 points)
3) John Buck & Oliver Hazel (17 points) JOINT
The next club championship race is the Gloucester 20 (mile), on the 13th March which is an “undulating” race that is 3 laps round the lanes to the south of Gloucester. Good luck to all of those who have entered.
