And what a busy weekend it’s been! Well done to all who took part in one of the many events listed below!
This week two members ran the Swindon parkrun at Lydiard Park, first home for the club was Jonathan Lewis in a time of 23:35 (PB), followed by Claire Joyce who ran in a time of 28:44.
Gloucestershire Cross Country League Race One – Cotswold Farm Park
Six members competed in the first of this year’s Cross Country League at the Cotswold Farm Park. First home for the club in the men’s race was James Thomas in 33:15, followed by Stephen Priestnall in a time of 38:00.
Liz Thomas was the first lady home for the club in a time of 32:18, followed by Louise Abbott in 40:42, and Kate Potter in 41:40.
Oliver Cooper made his way to Malvern to take part in the 2015 edition of the Worcester Beacon race, completing the course in 57:51.
Oxford Half Marathon
Returning member Juliette Burt completed the Oxford Half Marathon on Sunday in a time of 1:46:30.
Swindon Half Marathon
Club Coach Matt Lambourne acted as one of the four pacers at this year’s Half Marathon; completing the course in 1:40.
Munich Half Marathon
Second claim member Adrian Williams completed the race in a time of 1:14:22, finishing 12th overall and 1st in the V40 age category!
The Yorkshire Marathon
Two of our members made the trek up north to run the 3rd Yorkshire Marathon. David Whitlow completed the course in 3:51:03, whilst new(ish) member Tim Hodgetts completed the route in 3:53:43.
Budapest Marathon Relay
A whole group of our runners made their way over to the Hungarian capital Budapest for the weekend, most to take part in the Marathon Relay. The results are as follows:
Team Ted: Sarah Gray, Mark Day, Martin Pitts and Tracy Edginton – 3:55:49
Prosecco Princesses: Tracey Pitts, Kirsty Pitts, Sally Jamieson and Christine Coombes – 4:13:10
The Four Fitties: Paul Coates, Jacki Day, Caroline Terry and Sallie Clatworthy – 4:15:45
Running Somewhere Else 1: Caroline Coates, Steve Sandercock, Caroline Sandercock and Elspeth Murano – 4:49:18
Running Somewhere Else 2: Paula Wood, Andrew Maddison, Andrea Wood and Amandra Rowan – 4:49:18
Three members decided to try their hand at the more unusual race distance of 30km. First home for the club was Jo Weavin in a time of 3:11:52 followed by Jasmine Hebdon in 3:20:20 and Laura Maddison in 3:51:02.
Whilst everyone else was busy doing their own thing, two of the ladies completed the full marathon during their time in the Hungarian capital. First home for the club was Sharon Smith in a new PB of 3:49:08, followed by Alice Mason in a time of 4:56:59, well done ladies!
It would also to be prudent to add that Sharon Smith not only finished 1st in her age group in Budapest, but her new PB time also makes her the 3rd fastest woman in her age group in the UK for 2015!
