Last Sunday was round 11 of the club championship, which was the Cricklade half marathon held on Sunday 04th October, where 8 club runners participated.
Alas I was in Belgium so was unable to participate in the race. As the championship draws to an end the 5 race minimum to qualify and the best 8 race performances counting the championship has come into play.
There were 5 ladies competing in the race, none of which were in the top three of the ladies championship, so how has this affected the rest of the table? The top of the ladies championship is now as follows:
1) Sharon Smith 78 points
2) Elaine Chapman 70 points
3) Kirsty Pitts on 53 points
4) Alice Mason 30 points
Only 3 men were competing in the race, two of which were the top two places in the championship battling it out to the end. The top of men’s championship now looks like this:
1) Matt Lambourne 78 points
2) Mark Garrett 75 points
3) Martin Pitts 32 points
So the final race of the championship is now full so this is the last chance to qualify and get championship points.
The next race is the Guy Fawkes 5 mile Race in Tewkesbury Sunday 1st November. Good luck to all those competing!
