Just over a week ago saw the fourth race of the club championship, the Berkeley 10k on Monday 11th May. The race was the 2 loops of the roads around the village of Berkeley over a relatively flat course. The sun was out and there were a few of us that entered the race despite having run in the Hope 24 hour race the day before! Possibly more amazing is that 3 of these runners even managed to get personal best times!
So here is an update on the club championship standings after round 4:
For the ladies championship there were 3 contestants, which has seen a slight change at the top of the table between the leading five runners. The top of the table is now as follows:
1) Sharon Smith 29 points
2) Kirsty Pitts on 19 points
3) Elaine Chapman & Hazel Bridges tied on 16 points
For the Men’s championship there were 9 contestants, which has resulted in more changes at the top of the table too, where the competition seems to now be getting going! The top three now are as follows:
1) Mark Garrett 27 points
2) Paul Coates 24 points
3) Matt Lambourne 20 points
Well done to all!
