AMAZING WEEKEND

What a weekend for RSE!  Starting on Saturday morning at the Swindon 5k Park Run, 6 RSE runners took part, Andrew Maddison 20.20 (PB), Ben Chapman 22.37, Laura Maddison 26.23, Claire Joyce 26.54, Rebecca Stinton and Matt Lambourne 37.22.
CHELTENHAM HALF MARATHON
Then on Sunday 2944 runners competed in the popular Cheltenham Half Marathon road race.  19 RSE runners completed this fairly flat course, along traffic free roads taking you through the heart of Cheltenham.  James Thomas came in 35th place in a time of 1.23.14 (PB), followed by Simon Bowers 1.25.08 (PB), Russell Young 1.27.34, Matt Lambourne 1.30.37, Sharon Baldwin 1.39.52 (1st in Age Category F55+), Sharon Smith 1.44.04 (2nd F55+), Teresa Hazelwood 1.45.20, Sharon Rastelli 1.47.36, Sophie Dennett 1.48.49, Elaine Chapman 1.49.23, Wayne Edginton 1.49.40, Adrian Hazelwood 1.49.43 (PB), Anna Jones 1.50.04 (PB), Laurie Davies 1.51.54,  Jon Collins 1.55.54,  Liz Coombes 1.57.53 (PB), Andy Sampson 2.02.02, Zillah Wyman 2.16.37 and Louise Abbott 2.27.14.

CHIPPENHAM HALF MARATHON
1401 runners competed in this years Chippenham Half Marathon – a predominantly fast and flat course.  John Buck from RSE was 100th in a time of 1:30:41.
GREAT NORTH RUN
10 RSE runners travelled further North to Newcastle to compete in the largest half marathon in the world ‘The Bupa Great North Run’ where 57,000 runners ran on a very warm September morning along an undulating course from Newcastle and finished 13.1 miles later on the coast in South Shields.  First home for the club was Sallie Jamieson 1.50.11, Paul Coates 1.51.30, Kirsty Pitts 1.59.06, Alice Mason 2.17.55, Jacki Day 2.27.55, Caroline Terry 2.29.09, Tracey Pitts 2.29.10, Zoe Heywood 2.31.03, Sallie Clatworthy 2.32.19, Ella Cservenka, and not forgetting our number 1 supporter Caroline Coates.  Not only did they take in the amazing atmosphere and see a few famous faces but were also featured on the BBC1 coverage of the race.
